Melt in the middle mozzarella burgers

Surprise your guests with these delicious mozzarella stuffed burgers. They may appear to be the average burger but once sliced open cheesy goodness oozes out.

Ingredients:

500g lean beef mince
2 cloves of garlic, grated
1/2 red onion finely chopped
1 egg
60g grated mozzarella

 

Method:

Add the beef mince, garlic, onion and egg to a large bowl and mix together until the ingredients are combined.

Split the mixture into 8 equal balls and flatten into patties with the palm of you hand. They should be around 1cm to 1.5cm thick.

Next, evenly add the mozzarella to the middle of 4 of the patties.

Take one of the patties without mozzarella and place over one with mozzarella. Go around the now stacked patties and pinch the sides to make sure the mozzarella does not leak out when grilled. Repeat this with the others.

Grill each side on the BBQ until cooked through.
